Shelley began practicing yoga 8 years ago. Regular practice helped her cultivate overall health, mental, and emotional balance, and a greater sense of well-being. She loves to share yoga with children and hopes that it will cultivate balance and personal stability in their lives too.
Marsha Banks-Harold, RYT 200
Marsha was first introduced to yoga over 15 years ago. Her passion and enthusiasm for teaching yoga has lead her to open her own studio, Pies Fitness Yoga, in Alexandria as well as teach at various locations throughout the DC Metropolitan Area.
Sophia Brock, RYT 200
Sophia took her first yoga class in 2004 to see what this “yoga” thing was all about and was instantly in love with the sense of peace that yoga brought to her and has continuously taken classes since. Sophia completed our kids yoga teacher certification 200 hour Interdisciplinary Holistic Yoga Alliance certified Teacher Training at Pure Prana of Old Town, Alexandria in December of 2008. Sophia will forever consider herself a “student” because there is so much to learn regarding this ancient practice that teaches you peace, calmness, stability, harmony and healthy thinking and living.
Khyati has been practicing yoga for 4 years and also volunteers to teach homeless clients in DC. She recently completed a Yoga Outreach training program and the YoKid 20 hour kids yoga teacher certification and is excited to teach school-aged children.
Daysha Hampton, RYT 200
Daysha brings a wealth of diversified teaching experience to her students. She has taught yoga to kids and adults domestically and abroad. Learn more about Daysha.
Laura Grace McMillan
A graduate of the Budding Yogis children’s yoga teacher program, Laura primarily teaches elementary and middle school aged students. Personally, she has practiced yoga & mindfulness for 4 years.
Kate MacDonnell, E-RYT 200, RCYT
Brigid Rauch, RYT 200
Brigid has been practicing yoga for about 10 years. In 2007 she completed her yoga teacher training at Tranquil Space Yoga Studio. Brigid specializes in prenatal, children’s, and adult yoga, teaching throughout the Greater DC Area including at the Shanti Yoga Ashram in Bethesda, MD.
Jennifer Smith, RYT 200
Jennifer has been practicing yoga for 13 years and teaching both kids yoga and yoga to adults for the past 2 years. She enjoys infusing her classes with elements of dance and creative movement. Jennifer teaches adults locally in DC at Quiet Mind Yoga Studio and Yoga District.
As a mom, Girl Scout Troop Leader, Little League Coach, and yoga practitioner, Candace brings a well-rounded outlook to teaching yoga in the nonstudio environment. She has completed our kids yoga teacher certification, and her enthusiasm for working with children inspires joy and playfulness in the participants of her classes.
Kendra Wesley, RYT 200
Kendra completed her kids yoga teacher training with Divine Light Yoga. She has worked at Howard County Public Schools, Voices for Children, and as a youth coach and instructor. Her love for yoga has lead her to teach yoga with children.
Brigitta has informally practiced meditation since she was 16 years old! She particularly enjoys working with children with special needs, psycho-social issues, and developmental delays. Learn more about Brigitta and her work at here.
