Meet the Teacher Training Facilitators
Becky grew up in Richmond, VA and graduated from JMU with a degree in psychology. She obtained her elementary school teaching license from Mary Baldwin College. It is her dream to share the gift of yoga with as many individuals as possible; old and young alike. She has been teaching yoga to children since 2008 and to adults since 2010. She is a 200 hour E-RYT, and trained under Arlene Bjork through Grace Yoga Training Systems. She is currently an Ambassador for Lululemon Athletica, Project Yoga Richmond, and YoKid.
Becky strongly believes that she did not find yoga…yoga found her. Yoga has been very healing for Becky, as it gives her a way to stay balanced mentally and physically. It has opened her eyes to so many beautiful philosophies and ways of living, and it has led her to meet many astounding individuals. Becky is honored and grateful to be able to share the gift of yoga with others. Namaste.

Kate MacDonnell teaches children in settings such as after-school programs, PE classes, and community centers throughout the metro area. She has taught in public, private, and charter schools; as well as at Girl Scout camps and troupe meetings; and at a youth detention center. She has worked with groups ranging from pre-K through 12th grade.
These broad and varied experiences have shaped her approach to teaching yoga to children and youth. Her passion for teaching children stems from the desire to provide its valuable tools to all children and youth. Having discovered yoga late in college, she could see immediately how useful it could have been to her own peace of mind growing up. Now that yoga has become so main stream, she enjoys being able to freely teach the calming effects of the practice as well as the autonomous, non-competative exercise regimen to as many children as possible.
Kate has practiced yoga for 14 years and received her teaching certification in 2006. She has the Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT200) as well as the Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) designations through Yoga Alliance. She has completed the Street Yoga Training and the YoKid teacher training, and continues to study with a variety of adult master teachers.
