YoKid is proud to announce internship opportunities available within our organization. An internship with YoKid is a great way to learn about the inner workings of a nonprofit organization, grow professionally and contribute to the amazing cause of providing kids yoga!

General Summary:
Interns will work to support the mission and vision of YoKid, a nonprofit providing yoga and meditation classes for low-income and at-risk youth.
Interns are expected to participate in yoga classes and/or the YoKid teacher training to reinforce the skills needed to teach one kid’s yoga class per week. Interns will also assist with the day-to-day management of programs.
YoKid is a busy Alexandria-based nonprofit that provides on-site kids yoga classes at youth-friendly places throughout the Greater DC Area (ie. schools, recreation centers, etc).
Intern responsibilities may include:
Assist with data entry; teach/assist kids yoga classes; assist with coordination of time, date, location of programs; assist with coordinating programs with teacher schedules; use of social media; assist with event planning and organization; assist with drafting templates; assist with drafting and sending thank you letters to volunteers.
Work Environment:
The intern will primarily telecommute with regular communication with the directors via email, phone, skype, and weekly in person-meetings.
Interns must undergo a background check because they will be working with children.
Qualifications:
~Interest in youth development and yoga
~Proficient in MS Word, Excel, use of online social media and web-based communication
~Personal laptop (mac preferred)
~Professional, friendly, proactive and responsible
