Team YoKid’s “Coach Liz”

Elizabeth Bolton came to distance running during grad school as a way to avoid working on her master’s thesis. She went from someone who thought two miles was too far to someone who craved the relief of a long run. She ran her first 10-mile race in 2006 and never looked back. This spring, she is training for the Paris Marathon, which will be her fifth marathon.

She trains with Capital Area Runners and has coached with the Team to End AIDS program for the last two years and is excited to help YoKid supporters on their running journeys.

Liz believes deeply in the healing powers of yoga and that it is a natural complement to distance running. “Yoga has taught me so much about breathing and quieting my mind, skills I use constantly in running,” she said. “Plus I can touch my toes, which is a rare ability in the marathoning world.” Click here to contact Coach Liz
