Get YoKid

YoKid yoga programs traditionally consist of one kids yoga class once a week for six weeks and are held on-site at a school or community center.  Programs extended beyond the initial six weeks will reinforce skills previously taught as well as introduce intermediate to advanced skills and concepts.  YoKid yoga teachers are qualified yoga instructors with an enthusiasm for working with children. (To learn more about our kids yoga teacher certification click here).

All YoKid participants are given instruction on how to continue their yoga practice independently after they complete the class and are also encouraged to participate in the YoKid Challenge events to practice what they’ve learned.  YoKid Challenge participants are given a YoKid-Kulae sticky mat for them to use during the Challenge and to continue their yoga practice at home.

Elementary School Yoga (K-5th)

Kids at the elementary school level are taught traditional Hatha and Kundalini yoga poses, games, partner exercises, arts, crafts, music, songs, and yoga sounds.  The program is inspired by the teaching concepts of Annie Buckley’s “Yoga for Kids” program/ “Kids’ Yoga Deck” and Shakta Kaur Khalsa’s “Radiant Child Yoga Program.”

Middle & High School Yoga (6th-12th)

Teen Yoga ClassKids at the middle and high school level are taught traditional Hatha yoga, based on the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga.  The series allows the students to independently practice what they’ve learned in their yoga class at home.

Partner exercises, deep breathing, relaxation, and stress management techniques are integrated into all yoga classes.
