As you’re packing up for your summer vacations, getaways, road trips, adventures, have you considered packing up a yoga mat? This summer YoKid is here to help you remember your mat with a YoKid Yoga to Go blog series!
Whether you have a consistent practice or are just beginning a practice, summer is a beautiful time to incorporate yoga into your daily routine in creative and unexpected ways.
Will you be driving to your destination? If you’re an avid planner as some of us are, you may consider highlighting a few parks or scenic stops along the way where you can pull over, lay out your mat and practice asana. Begin with setting an intention, perhaps an intention for your car ride, or an intention for when you arrive to your final destination, or an intention toward the love and closeness that you hope to experience with your family on this trip. Depending where you are, if you have firm ground, you can take some time to flow through the salutations of your choice, and if you’ve been in the car for awhile, you may feel the need to stay off of your bottom and practice some standing postures. Or have a little giggle with the kids and practice some arm balances.
